Our Commitment to Keeping You Safe

We are excited to announce that in the coming weeks, we'll slowly start resuming "normal" library operations. We've missed you and are thankful for the support you've given our library this past year! On Tuesday, June 8, 2021, the Sutton Free Library Board of Trustees voted to re-open the library to brief in-person browsing on Monday, June 21, by appointment only. Contact us for available times. This decision is based on low levels of Covid-19 cases and increasing vaccination levels within the state.

  • Curbside will continue for those who like to order ahead and pick up;

  • Returned books will no longer be quarantined before being re-shelved;

  • Restricted in-building services by appointment, including book browsing and computer use on Monday, June 21, 2021;

  • Up to 5 patrons or one family unit will be permitted into Sutton Free Library at a time. Time slots will be 15 minutes;

  • Properly worn masks (covering nose and mouth) are required within the library. Masks must be worn by anyone age 4 and older;

  • Meeting spaces will not be available for outside groups;

  • Story time will resume 6/30/21. No other programming will resume at this time. Wednesdays (excluding federal holidays) at 10am on the lawn behind the library (weather permitting). Standard social distancing routines required;

  • Summer Reading Program details coming soon;

  • Inter-Library Loan borrowing will resume Thursday, July 1, 2021. Non-library affiliated book groups are encouraged to start requesting books again. Reminder: Books requested must have been published at least 6 months prior to request;

  • Museum Passes available for borrowing. Currently offering: NH State Parks, The Fells, The American Precision Museum. More to Come!

It's been a long year, but medical professionals are in the news daily reminding us that, while tremendous progress is being made to provide vaccinations, we are not out of the woods yet. We urge you to hold the course. Being patient a little longer, and following all the protocols, will allow us to exit the pandemic knowing we have done everything in our power to keep our staff and patrons safe. Thank you for the understanding and support you have given our library staff during these difficult times. Your comments and questions are always welcomed!
